Whipshaw Trail, British Columbia, Canada
SEPTEMBER 2020
11 people, 7 vehicles, 5 trailers, 4 days, 68 miles, 6200 feet of elevation – 1 Epic Adventure. The Off Grid Trailers team took on the Whipsaw Trail to put there rigs to the test.
Stretching roughly 100 kilometers through the mountains near Princeton, BC, the Whipsaw Trail offers a perfect mix of steep climbs, water crossings, and breathtaking alpine meadows. The route connects the Coalmont area to the small town of Coquihalla, and it’s known for unpredictable weather and constantly changing trail conditions.
The Off Grid team set out for several days of pure overlanding — towing their rugged camper trailers through the backcountry to see how they perform in real-world adventure conditions. From slick mud ruts to high-elevation ridgelines, the Expedition 3.0 and Pando 3.0 proved exactly why they’re trusted by off-road enthusiasts across North America.
The Off Grid Trailers Setup
Each trailer in this BC Overland Expedition was equipped with:
- Independent suspension systems built for technical terrain
- All-terrain tires and full underbody protection
- Modular rear kitchens for cooking anywhere on the trail
- 4-season durability to handle sudden mountain storms
The goal of the trip wasn’t just to reach the end — it was to live comfortably and confidently along the way.
Life on the Trail
Overlanding in British Columbia isn’t just about the challenge. It’s about connection — to nature, to your crew, and to the journey itself.
The team camped under alpine stars, cooked trailside meals, and shared the kind of stories that only happen when you’re miles from cell service.
The video captures the spirit of true Canadian overlanding — adventure, resilience, and freedom — all while showcasing what’s possible when your trailer is built for the wild.
